SHR Talent is currently representing a well-established logistics company in Nashville in its search for a full-time Director of Human Resources. The successful candidate in this role must be a confident leader and strategic thinker who can jump right into the nitty gritty & further culture development. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading an HR team in the package pickup and delivery industry. This role is responsible for strategically hiring, evaluating, retaining and off boarding staff based on the needs of the company. The Director of HR has a main goal to build the capacity and principles of the HR team in order to maximize productivity and growth within the division of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage benefit administration, payroll maintenance, worker's comp, and administrative tasks as necessary
  • Work with managers in the field as well as in the home office when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise
  • May be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions
  • Provide strategic advice around budget decisions, compensation plans, payroll, benefits and staffing
  • Develop goals for HR team
  • Build strategic relationships with managers to understand needs and goals of each department
  • Handle inquiries from and pro-actively interact with internal teams
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving to internal teams
  • Take on special projects as needed

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills
  • Expertise in organizing, analyzing and presenting complex human resource data
  • Staffing coordination
  • Adaptable and able to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional time management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Salesforce experience a plus


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of related experience
  • Experience identifying quality candidates and evaluating performance
