VP of Finance

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in the Dallas, TX area in its search for a full-time VP of Finance. The individual in this role will assist in the direction of all finance-related decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, valuations, analyses, & revenue audits. To be successful in this role, one must have familiarity with a variety of healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures. The VP of Finance must be an effective communicator, as he/she will lead & direct the work of others.

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate operational techniques, budgets, programs, and practices to ensure maximum economic operation.
• Manage the creation of all budgets and ultimately manage all board approved final budgets.
• Present financial budgets to the Board of Directors.
• Determine the offer prices of potential acquisitions in partner with Development team.
• Analyze financial information from outside centers and prepare pro-forma to determine value to company.
• Conduct and organize all financial information during due diligence process of a newly acquired center.
• Manage all facility contracts (facility leases, equipment leases, financing documents) and set reminders of due dates.
• Calculate and forecast the impact of future Medicare reimbursement cutbacks.
• Responsible with managing and maintaining over $700,000 in commercial insurance premiums.
• Manage insurance claims for each location owned or managed by company.
• Determine areas of risk within the center and help to mitigate the risk exposure.
• Facilitate all medical supply contracts between our GPO and the facility.
• Negotiate equipment financing through financial entities.
• Coordinate center acquisitions with legal counsel and internal staff.
• Possesses a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Represents company in a positive manner when communicating with both internal and external customers.
• Supports a work environment which promotes cross-training of work responsibilities for all work groups.
• Uses discretion and independent judgment when handling confidential information.
• Contributes to team by accomplishing department results and goals.
• Mentors and trains other team members as needed.
• Leads and directs the work of others.
• Performs management responsibilities (i.e. counseling, time keeping, performance evaluations, coaching, etc.) for direct reports.
• Approves employee timesheets by applying established time-keeping policies to direct reports using the time and attendance system.
• Assists with and/or develops and implements programs and strategies which address/ensure proper staffing levels, timely recruitment of qualified work force, timely and consistent use of progressive disciplinary process, and development of second level leaders, staff employees, and employee satisfaction within the workplace.
• Actively supports organizational goals through participation, measuring and tracking results, and sharing at regularly scheduled staff meetings to assist the organization in achieving success within the categories of People, Quality, Growth, Service, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a business-related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 years in Finance or similar field
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, prioritize, organize, and communicate effectively
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in daily work and other projects
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
• Microsoft Office Proficiency and advanced level Excel skills
