Payroll Analyst

SHR Talent is currently seeking a full-time Payroll Analyst on behalf of a client in Nashville. The successful candidate in this role must have UltiPro experience. This opportunity is onsite working in the Nashville office.

Essential Job Functions

• Negotiate and participate in HRIS RFP processes
• Lead the development and tracking of HRIS efficiencies and implement processes company wide
• Serve as primary liaison between software and company users
• Develop, maintain, and support KPIs and monthly/ad-hoc reports and queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools
• Develop and provide user system training, procedures, guidelines and documentation
• Maintain awareness of current trends in UltiPro as it relates to Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits and Talent Management
• Ensure complete and accurate year end processing
• Support Annual Enrollment and Life Event changes within UltiPro
• Update Workflows as required
• Maintain and update vendor files
• Manage role security within UltiPro
• Perform all functions involved in preparing, analysing, reconciling, balancing and reporting payroll activity while assisting with issues relating to benefits and retirement plans
• Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings and filings, wage garnishments, and voluntary and court ordered deductions
• Advise Plant Payroll/HR Liaison regarding payroll and HRIS related matters
• Ensure payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with external and internal policies and laws
• Perform actions necessary to track and determine regular and overtime pay, and discretionary and non-discretionary bonuses
• Calculate and process Federal and State tax and social security withholdings, union dues, etc.
• Reconcile, maintain, and audit payroll errors, adjustments, and employee records for accuracy
• Field and respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies as required
• Work with Finance on the payroll general ledger processing which includes accurate and timely monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources Management, Business or relevant field highly preferred
• FPC, CPP, PHR or SPHR preferred
• 2+ years of functional, technical, and multi-site location experience in HRIS Administration required
• 2+ years of experience in managing and processing payroll required. Multi-state payroll experience preferred
• 2 or more years Ultimate Payroll software experience required
• Proven experience with the implementation, administration and maintenance of Ultimate Software (UltiPro) preferred
• Experience in formulating and managing project schedules
• Proven experience in creating complex reporting
• Knowledge of appropriate tax applications
• Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining compliance with FLSA, DOL, and IRS rulings
