Description

The Key Account Manager role is a unique position that requires individual work with assigned accounts and high engagement with other team members and internal contacts, and requires effective communication skills, a positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and creativity.

As the Key Account Manager, you will work directly with Readerlink as a main distribution partner and directly with the book buyers for each national account and will be the liaison between the Company and assigned accounts to provide a win-win for all and will need to maintain communication with external buying teams, establishing a strong working relationship, which is essential to drive sales, create new opportunities, and problem solve. The key to success as the Key Account Manager is having the ability to collaborate well with a team, providing creative ideas, and executing those ideas at the account level.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and present line reviews to buying teams for Readerlink, Target, and Sam’s Club

• Monitor inventory needs for each title and account, providing projections to inventory and production teams

• Coordinate with team members on account marketing and promotional plans to meet or exceed yearly sales goals

• Research and analyze sales, speaking on trends related to assigned accounts, and assisting with making business decisions internally and externally

• Attend weekly publisher meetings, speaking to account specific needs or asks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales Marketing, required

• Equivalent work experience in Sales or Publishing considerable in lieu of a degree

• 5+ years sales experience at the national account level, strongly preferred

• Previous or current books sales to mass market retailers, plus

• 5 years experience selling to mass merchandiser retail channels such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Dollar General, highly desired

• Publishing knowledge, plus, but not required

• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to multi-task and set priorities

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific guidelines provided by accounts

• Ability to handle change and pivot plans as needed based on frequent account changes and asks
