Custom Product Manager

Description

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in its search for a full-time Custom Product Manager. This opportunity is onsite working in the office in Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI.

Essential Job Functions

• Work closely with Key Account Representatives to reach annual budgeted Custom revenues
• Functions as the key touch point & expert for the Custom Team with our Sales Representatives
• Builds/maintains strong business relationships with sales and corporate teams (Finance, Publishing, Editorial, Production, Packaging Design, and Composition) critical to Custom Product Development to fully realize key business process, practices, and analyses
• Works with Key Account Representatives to fill the annual pipeline
• Drives implementation of custom product development through historical analysis
• Project Manages incoming jobs from sales requests to firm and in production
• Manages major tracking reports for the department (ie. Master Revenue Tracking Report, Impact Report, Pre-Quote Tracker, etc)
• Manages Custom inventory & sell-down of overstocks
• Equips the Sales Reps to sell custom product by providing and/or creating the necessarily sales tools (i.e. reports, timelines, samples, pricing grids, marketing material, brochures, etc.)
• Project Manages major departmental initiatives (ie. CRM, etc)
• Represents the custom team in various internal meetings as needed
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Qualifications

• Familiarity with book publishing is highly desired but not required
• At least 3 years of experience working in an office environment, preferably involving some type of sales relationship management or project management experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry related experience
• General knowledge of the publishing industry and of how books are made in all publishing formats is desired
• Specific knowledge of Christian publishing desired
• Working knowledge of popular Christian authors, key Christian ministries, and general Christian culture is desired Skills: • Must be very organized and highly detail driven
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Proven project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to gather and organize data from multiple sources, distilling numerous pieces of information and communicate key points to others
• Possesses an analytical mind to recommend courses of action based on the data collected
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
